Screen Options
The items here take you to the same screens avaiable from the other screens. Each is described separately.
External Services
Myallo HotList uses External Services to get information on other people and places such as their locations, and to report some of your own information, such as your location, to others. Check the Services page for links to information on each service, which explains security and sending your location. The options differ by service but mostly let you specfy if, and how often, Myallo HotList can get and send this information.
Some services require you to join and authenticate yourself before you can send your location and transfer some kinds of information. In that case you can enter your identification and password for the service here. Myallo HotList stores these passwords only on your device and sends it only to the service, only as necessary.
These settings allow you to fine-tune Myallo HotList’s internal calculations of Current Hotness. You can adjust the weight, or significance, of certain factors used in the calculations.
For the standard results, all the Weights should be centered. Touch the “Center All Sliders” item to move all the sliders to the center.
Move a slider slightly to the left of center to give an item less weight, or toward the right to give it more. The extreme right or left settings make the item significantly more or less significant, but you can’t eliminate its significance altogether, or overwhem the calculations with its weight.
Proximity: The nearer another Person or Place is to me, the hotter it is. Settings toward the right give proximity more weight.
Known: A “known” Person or Place is more significant than an “unknown” one. Known people or places are those you yourself added to the People or Places screens. Unknown People or Places are transient ones added by Myallo HotList because External Services indicate they are near your current location. Settings toward the right of center make known entities more important, and unknown ones less important.
Things: The items listed on the Things Screen are topics of interest to you. Myallo HotList scans the information about People and Places to see if any of the Things are mentioned. The more a Thing is mentioned, the hotter the person or place gets. Settings toward the right of center gives Thing-matching more weight.
Freshness: The information Myallo HotList gathers on a Person or Place may be recent and fresh, old and stale, or anywhere in between. For example, a person’s location may be obtained from an External Service, but that location may have been reported to the service long ago, making it relatively stale, or moments ago, making it very fresh. Settings toward the right of center make freshness more significant in the calculations of Current Hotness.
