People Screen

PeopleThis screen shows a list of the People on which you have chosen to track Hotness.

Touch a person to see their Person Screen which lets you see more details, and lets you associate the person with various External Services.

People Options

The “Options” button will show a screen where you can set the type of People you want to show and the Sort order. You can also add people to the list.

Sort Option

The “Sort” option lets you sort by “Name” or “Hotness“. If you sort by Hotness, the list will automatically keep itself ordered with the hottest people at the top, dynamically changing as you make adjustments or new information about People and Places comes in from the Internet.

People-OptionsShow Option

The “Show” option lets you select the types of people that are listed. “Known” people are those who you yourself have added to the list. “Discovered” are People that Myallo HotList adds temporarily because an External Service determined they are near your location. “All” will show both types of People.

Adding People

The “Add People From” section lets you add people to the list. The section lists the sources from which people can be chosen. Touch a service name to see a screen that lets you specify people from that service to add.

The “Contacts…” item lets you add people from the Contacts list on your device. You can choose to select a single contact to add, all people from a contact group, or all people from the whole Contacts list.

Perhaps you do not need to add all your contacts. You might end up deleting a lot of them after a while. You may have many business contacts that only have a work address, not a home one. As People, they will have unknown locations and will not appear on the Radar. And, you may have many contacts whose Hotness is not very important, like your guy you met one time at a convention ten years ago. And if a Person doesn’t report their location and you don’t have a Home address on them either, their location will remain unknown. The hotness of such a person won’t change, they won’t appear on the Radar, and they won’t affect anyone else’s hotness either.

Instead of blindly adding all your contacts, you might create a group of contacts you want to add over on your desktop computer, sync with your device, and then just add that group of contacts to the People list.

You can select any contacts, but only contacts Myallo HotList actually considers “people” will be added to the People list. A contact is considered a “person” if it has its first name or last name. A contact with only an organization name is considered a Place, not a Person. Note that a contact that has both a name and an organization is considered to be both a Person and a Place and can be added to both People and Places screens.

The other items in the Add People section let you enter an identifier for a member of the service, and the identified person will be added to the list. For example, if you know a person is on the Twitter Service, you can enter their Twitter User Name to add them. Their last Twitter status and reported location will be tracked. If that person is also in your Contacts list or on other services, add that afterward, over on their Person Screen.
