Person Screen
This screen lets you see and adjust information about a particular Person.
The Basic Hotness slider lets you set your own general level of interest in a person, where 99% means very hot indeed and -99% means ice cold. The 0% level means no particular interest, and is the starting point for a new person.
For advice on setting Basic Hotness, touch this link. An easy way to snap the slider to a standard value is to touch one of the labels below it – Fire, Hot, Zero, Cold, or Ice, or one of the dots in between. Resist setting all your friends, or anyone to the hottest level. That gives them no way to get hotter when they get near to you or other hot People or Places! For a good start, try setting most friends to 25%, really good friends to 50%, and maybe one very best friend to 75%.
It’s not a good idea to set all your friends, or anything to the very highest level. That gives them no room to get hotter when they gather together! Try setting most friends to 25%, a few really good friends to 50% and perhaps your very best friend to 75%, and let Myallo HotList adjust those basic levels from there.
A person’s Basic Hotness doesn’t change unless you change it here on this screen. But their Current Hotness changes automatically, as Myallo HotList calculates it based on the Basic Hotness, the person’s proximity to you, their relevance to Things, and other factors.
So, when you add a Person, their Basic Hotness starts at 0%, and their Current Hotness starts there too, but the Current Hotness will automatically move up or down based on Myallo HotList’s calculations. At any time, you can change Basic Hotness here. For example, you might set a friend to 50% Basic Hotness. That becomes the new point around which Current Hotness will be based.
If a person’s hotness is in the negative Cold levels, they will drag down the Current Hotness of People and Places near them to some extent.
To see an explanation of Current Hotness for a Person, touch their name to show the Explain Screen.
Sources of Information
Information on a person can come from several sources, such as your device’s Contacts list or the profiles they have on various External Services. The Sources of Information section shows the places information can come from, and which ones are set up for the person.
When you initially add a person, you add them from a source of information such as your Contacts list. But you can add more sources of information on this screen.
To add a new source of information, touch one of the source names that say “(not set up)”. For example, if the person is a member of Twitter and the Twitter item says “(not set up)”, touching it will show a screen where you can enter the Twitter User ID for the person. From then on, Myallo HotList can call upon Twitter to get further information on the person, such as their status and location.
Once a person is associated with a source of information, “(not set up)” changes to the ID of the Person on that service, and touching the item will show a screen that displays the person’s profile on that service. For example, if you associate a Person with the Twitter user ID “lepton”, then “Twitter lepton” will show in the Sources of Information, and touching it will visit the Internet and show the Twitter profile for “lepton”.
Make sure you associate a person with their proper identifiers. If you associate a Person with Twitter user “lepton”, make sure that is really their Twitter name, or the Person can end up showing information on the wrong person.
To disassociate a Person from a source of information that you have set up, swipe your finger left to right across the item with the “delete” gesture. A “Delete” button will appear, and touching it will not delete the Person, but will delete the association, changing the item back to the”(not set up)” status.
