Radar Screen

RadarThe Radar screen maps the locations of People and Places.

You can set the map to automatically follow you, or the Hottest Person or Place. You can scroll the map freely and zoom in on yourself or any location. Your position is indicated by a blue “blip”. Other blips on the map show nearby People and Places. A round blip represents a Person and a square one represents a Place. The blips are color coded according to hotness, red being hotter, orange, yellow, gray and cyan are colder. Touching a blip pops up the associated Person or Place’s name and a button you can touch to see details on the Person or Place.

Under  the map it shows you, or the Hottest Person or Place you set the option to follow. Touch its name to see details.

The Focus On option controls which Person or Place (if any) the map should follow when you touch the Follow button on the Radar Screen. Me will follow me. The map will move as you do, keeping your blue blip centered as you move about. Person will follow the location of the hottest Person on your list. If a new Person becomes hottest, it will start following it . Place will similarly follow the hottest Place.

The Show Blips option lets you choose the types of blips that are placed on the map. “Both“, “People” and “Places” will let you see both kinds, only People, or only Places. “All“, “Known” or “Discovered” will let you show only known blips (People and/or Places that you yourself have added to HotList), only discovered blips (People and/or Places that HotList temporarily includes because External Services say they are nearby), or all blips.

The Map Style option lets you choose the kind of view the map shows. Standard is a regular street map. Satellite shows a satellite photo based map with no streets.Hybrid shows the satellite map with streets overlaid upon it.
